Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance — required by Idaho law
Idaho law requires every active real estate licensee to carry Errors and Omissions insurance — this is a condition of licensure, not merely advisable. Idaho Code 54-2013 and IDAPA 24.37.01.118 give you two routes: enroll in the state-sponsored group E&O program administered by the Idaho Real Estate Commission, billed alongside your licence, or carry independent coverage that meets the Commission's minimum standards (including an insurer rated A.M. Best B+ or better) and file an Independent Errors and Omissions Certification with IREC. A licence will not be issued or renewed on an active status without coverage on file.

No Nampa General Business License
Nampa does not issue a general business license. The City Clerk licenses only specific regulated categories: alcohol and alcohol catering, amusement operators, animal/dog licences, concessions, massage establishments, motor escort services, pawnbrokers, peddlers and solicitors, private security/private investigators/alarm installers, special events, tree removal and pruning, and used precious-metal and jewelry dealers. Businesses outside those categories — contractors, salons, tutoring, real estate, insurance, notaries, pet services, auto repair, photography, cleaning, and the like — need no city business license. Zoning approval, a Certificate of Occupancy, and an In-Home Business registration for home-based operations may still apply.
