Phoenix requires a Certificate of Occupancy for all commercial yoga studios. Studios serving 50 or more persons are classified as Group A-3 assembly occupancy under the IBC. Apply through Phoenix Development Services. A commercial building inspection is required.
Phoenix Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) License
Phoenix businesses must obtain a local TPT license in addition to the state TPT license if selling taxable goods or services. Yoga instruction may be exempt from TPT, but retail sales require a license. Register through the Arizona Department of Revenue.
